It's difficult for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have already been conquered.

This is the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the peak baggers, are what's still available for a squad that has accomplished all there is.

It needed until Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, taking back their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the bowlers that have sported the yellow jersey over five decades.

It's challenging for their batters to hold a record if not provided the opportunity.

Ultimately, the result of Australia conceding 330 was skipper Alyssa Healy being given an opportunity to deliver her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the 19-year-old niece of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her country didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has witnessed all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 championship victory happened three months after her first appearance and seven international trophies have come from 10 attempts across formats.

The gritty keeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India briefly halted the winning streak.

That loss "drove us to rethink our standards," Healy said this week.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the final and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not come up short.

The question of whether this latest epic knock exceeded that prior achievement is debatable.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind championship match pressure. Different voices suggest with the test that comes when facing a record target and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's clear is this ton was considerably tougher to predict.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 happened while she topped the run-scoring charts, but this innings followed six innings in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in practice sessions, it was a challenging time because I feel like I've had no rhythm at all," stated Healy.

"However when you take the field, your competitive nature activate and you just lock into the competition."

Healy's competitive nature has consistently been her great strength - and an invaluable trait in replacing legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's motivation.

"An opportunity to take the field and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun that way, sort of got me going," commented Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 balls as she flogged anything short, striking 21 boundaries and three big hits.

When she was out her side needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Pursuing 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the confidence to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, should it happen, we believe we can achieve it."

These statements will be the final thing rival teams at this championship should hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this success following success over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

It was at that stage they were eliminated from last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a game Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the initial instance at a major tournament.

Such is her determination, she later said she wished she had played through the pain.

Yet even as she later admitted those fitness problems have pushed back thoughts of retirement, this championship is anticipated as her last as captain in ODI cricket and she is still to achieve a world championship as skipper.

Triumph in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
